• SAVE your used backpacks and extra school supplies for a special gift event for CASA/Supporting Abused Children.
• We also have new relationships this year with Hillside Children's Center and 13thirty Cancer Connect (Supporting Mothers with teens who are battling cancer).

GOOD NEWS:

The Service Committee
The Service Committee and Mothers for Others has an exciting new development! In the spirit of fostering healthy relationships between young men and women, we are partnering with Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women to organize events that serve the local community. Our tagline is "Mercy and McQuaid: Sisters and Brothers in Service of Others." These events will give the boys a way to socialize without pressure, and provide them with service hours. We are hopeful this will be a win-win all around!

Our first co-ed service project will be held at the Oatka Cemetery on Oct. 1st, where we will clean and landscape the graves of our community's indigent and forgotten. We will begin the event with a short prayer service and a potluck brunch. All members of our McQuaid and Mercy families are welcome, more details will follow in a separate email.

We also have a new collaboration with House of Mercy! Along with the students from Our Lady of Mercy, we will be volunteering at a monthly Sunday Mass. This will be followed by serving a meal to those in attendance, along with many other on-site service opportunities.
