McQuaid Jesuit

Second Year Cohort  Formation

The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius are the heart of Ignatian Spirituality.  A combination of “exercises” (meditations and active imagination contemplations, discernment, journaling, spiritual conversation with a spiritual director, and contemplative reflections unique to St. Ignatius) leads a person to greater spiritual intimacy, human authenticity and service to God.  The Exercises bond us uniquely in an identity as a Beloved of God; from this identity Jesuits and lay colleagues together serve the mission of McQuaid Jesuit.

Outcome

At the conclusion of the second year the cohort will have comprehensive knowledge of the theology, dynamics and formative principles of the Spiritual Exercises.  The cohort will have some experience of the Spiritual Exercises (this does not mean members are making the Spiritual Exercises Retreat).
