In Hope Sings, So Beautiful, award-winning author Christopher Pramuk offers a mosaic of images and sketches for thinking and praying through difficult questions about race. The reader will encounter the perspectives of artists, poets, and theologians from many different ethnic and racial communities.
This richly illustrated book is not primarily sociological or ethnographic in approach. Rather, its horizon is shaped by questions of theology, spirituality, and pastoral practice. Pramuk's challenging work on this difficult topic will stimulate fruitful conversations and fresh thinking, whether in private study or prayer; in classrooms, churches, and reading groups; or among friends and family around the dinner table.
St. Ignatius had great devotion to the heart of God. The icon above depicts St. Ignatius offering the suffering of the world to the heart of the crucified Jesus. This retreat will allow participants to enter into how Ignatius invited us to pray with the Passion of Jesus, including bringing a wounded humanity and world to the healing heart of Jesus. Each gathering will include a prayer experience, reflection on that experience, an opportunity for sharing of graces and a handout for the week to guide one’s personal prayer.

Mother/Son Ignatian Evening
This evening is inspired by “Companions in a Mission of Reconciliation and Justice,” a recently released document which guides the mission focus for the Society of Jesus. This afternoon will begin with an understanding of reconciliation (non-Sacramental) and justice as understood by the Jesuits. Time will be given to pray and reflect on reconciliation and justice in the dynamic relationship of mother and son. Our evening will be guided by Dr. Damian Zynda.
