MATERIALS:

1- All students need to bring to class a black composition notebook with graph paper, folder, and the textbook.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  2- Assigned textbook: Economics: 14th edition, by McConnell and Brue.  This must be covered.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    3- Outside readings will be provided by the instructor.                                                                                                                        4- All long term assignments must be typed (no exceptions).

ABSENCES:

1- Students are responsible for all class work and homework assigned during their absence.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    2- Missed tests must be made up within 1 full cycle of the day you return to class.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            3- If a student misses class because of a retreat, the student will complete the work according to the prearranged agreement.                                                                                                                                                                                                               4- Missed class work, quizzes, and homework must be made-up the very next day in which the student returns to school (unless there was a prolonged absence).                                                                                                                                                                                                                    5- In the above cases, if a student misses the deadline, he will receive a grade of  "0".                                                                 6- If you skip a test, you will receive a grade of "0".

CLASS EXPECTATIONS:

1- Respect everyone in the classroom.                                                                                                                                                           2- Respect others during discussions, group work, presentations, and lectures.                                                                             3- Be prepared with a pen or pencil and your notebook when the passing period is over.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            4- Students that are eating or drinking in class will receive JUG.                                                                                                       5- Students found in violation of the Dress-Code will receive JUG.                                                                                                    6- The school administration and your family will be notified in the event of cheating, copying, or plagiarizing.                                                                                                                                                                                                            7- Overall good behavior in the classroom is always expected.                                                                                                           8- Students must come prepared every day for class.  This includes proper writing utensils, notebook, and textbook.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 9-  All assignments are due the class period we meet.  Any late work will be penalized 10% per day late.  After one full cycle the grade becomes "0".

EVALUATION:

During the marking period students will have a total amount of possible points to accumulate, which is then divided into the total amount of points earned.

Example:             320 (earned points)

                              400 (total points)         = 80%

The grade includes tests, quizzes, essays, long term projects, and class participation.
