Ways to Give
Outright Gifts
Gifts of cash or securities provide McQuaid Jeusit with much-needed financial assistance. Outright gifts have an immediate impact on the school because they can be used to support a variety of current needs.
Appreciated Securities
A gift of long-term appreciated marketable securities helps you save taxes twice. Such a gift will provide an income-tax charitable deduction and capital gains tax savings.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations have demonstrated their support of McQuaid Jesuit by matching their employees' gifts to the school, up to a specified amount. Before you make a gift, you may want to ask whether your employer (or your spouse's employer) participates in such a program. Certain restrictions apply to matching gifts; please consult your company's personnel office for further information.
Gifts of Real Estate
When you make a gift of property to McQuaid Jesuit, you may claim an income-tax charitable deduction based on the full market value of the gift, avoid capital gains taxes, and eliminate certain costs associated with the transfer of real property. Gifts of real estate can also provide you with long-term income.
Gifts in Kind
You may wish to give McQuaid Jesuit a non-monetary gift. McQuaid Jesuit receives a wide variety of such gifts, including new or used computers, automobiles, office equipment and other items. To explore this option, please contact a member of the McQuaid Jesuit Development Office.
Gifts to BASH (Building A Scholastic Heritage) include gifts in kind that are auctioned at the event. They are brought to BASH gift gathering parties or directly to the Advancement Office. BASH gift giving also may include personal or corporate sponsorship packages that combine BASH participation with variable levels of recognition and advertising for you or your firm.
Corporate Sponsorship
Corporate sponsorships allow you and/or your firm to build a business relationship with the school on an advertising model. The benefit to the firm is the ability to connect to tens of thousands of members of the school community via alumni, parent, sports, and arts publications (electronic and physical), and physical signage in different venues of the school. Giving here translates to an advertising expense for the firm, and not a charitable donation.
Making a Planned Gift
Planned gifts are gift arrangements that have specific tax advantages and often include lifetime income to a beneficiary or beneficiaries named by the donor. Several McQuaid Jesuit donors have utilized planned giving methods and are enjoying the benefits today, including capital gains tax savings, increased income, and income tax savings. A planned gift maximizes your giving potential and can even allow you to ensure your future financial security or that of a loved one. For further information about making a planned gift or bequest to McQuaid Jesuit, contact Pamela White, Director of Development.
