UPDATED! McQ Crew Team and "Row for the Cure"

On June 14th, seven members of the McQuaid Jesuit Crew Team will embark on a 340 mile, eight day journey down the Erie Canal to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (“JDRF”) and we need your help in meeting our fundraising goal!

The first of its kind, “Row for the Cure” is a unique fundraising event for a great cause! Not only will our boys be rowing many hard (GRUELING) miles down the canal, they will also be joined by one of their fiercest rivals, the Canisius High School Crew Team. These two competitive teams are joining forces to support a worthy cause.

The most recent press release regarding the event can be found here: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/5/prweb9481664.htm.

Also, to provide inspiration for the event, the teams created the following video which is posted on YouTube and on their fundraising site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZdB3rlRAFk&feature=youtu.be. Please take a few minutes to watch it, it is outstanding!

The teams have set a lofty goal of raising $50,000. Funds raised for JDRF will be used to fund research to find a cure for juvenile diabetes. Over the past month, the boys have been busy soliciting corporate sponsors for the event but are still only at about 40% of their goal.

If you are interested in helping the teams reach their goal, donate today by clicking on the following link:

All donations are 100% tax deductible, and a receipt will be provided by JDRF.

In addition to raising funds for JDRF, the team is also accepting donations to help offset the costs associated with the event, including food, gas, locks fees, camping fees, etc… Those donations should be sent to:
