McQ Crew Team to participate in "Row For The Cure"

On June 14th, seven members of the McQuaid Jesuit Crew Team will embark on a 340 mile, eight day journey down the Erie Canal to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (“JDRF”).

The first of its kind, “Row for the Cure” is a unique event for a great cause! Not only will our boys be rowing many hard (GRUELING) miles down the canal, they will also be joined by one of their fiercest rivals, the Canisius High School Crew Team. These two competitive teams are joining forces to support a worthy cause.

The most recent press release regarding the event can be found here: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/5/prweb9481664.htm.

Also, to provide inspiration for the event, the teams created the following video which is posted on YouTube and on their fundraising site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZdB3rlRAFk&feature=youtu.be. Please take a few minutes to watch it, it is outstanding!

Funds raised for JDRF will be used to fund research to find a cure for juvenile diabetes. Over the past month, the boys have been busy soliciting corporate sponsors for the event and are currently at about 40% of their goal.
