You will be graded equally on class participation, test and quiz scores, and completion of a major project (discussed below). There will be at least one test or quiz per religion. You are expected to bring you workbooks to each class. During class discussion you must take notes, as well as be involved in discussion.

Projects:

You are required to complete one of the following projects – more details will come later.

1. Essay

Compare and contrast two of the major religions with an emphasis on one of the many dimensions of religion in a three page essay.

2.  Oral presentation introducing one of the major religions

Using PowerPoint, a presentation program, introduce one of the major religions to the class prior to our discussion of its text.

3.  Video tape an interview with a religious figure from outside your own tradition.

4. Lead a discussion

Read the text and at least one outside commentary in preparation for leading a discussion on the text in class.
