MCQUAID JESUIT TO PRESENT
“LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS”

Rochester, New York, March 16, 2007….McQuaid Jesuit will present the play, “Little Shop of Horrors” beginning Wednesday, Mar. 21 to Saturday, Mar. 24. The show is at 7:30 p.m., and will be held at McQuaid Jesuit, 1800 South Clinton Ave., Rochester. It features WHAM13 News anchor Don Alhart in his South Clinton Ave. debut. More on that later.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students, and $8 for seniors and may be purchased at the school’s reception desk.

McQuaid Jesuit juniors Trevor Bachman and Kyle Rogan take the leading roles as “the plant” and “Seymour” respectively. Additionally, the show includes young women actors from East Rochester, Allendale Columbia, Penfield, and Our Lady of Mercy High Schools. Director of the play is McQuaid Jesuit faculty member Pamela Stoffel. The play’s producer is faculty member Andrew Boone, and its musical/technical director is Kevin Karnisky.

The production features 13WHAM News anchor Don Alhart, who performs the opening monologue in “a voice not unlike God’s,” as the script describes. Last year Alhart judged McQuaid’s senior speech competition, which Stoffel oversees. When she proposed that Alhart play the voice of the Almighty in “Little Shop of Horrors”, she asked him, “How could you turn down the part of God?” Alhart couldn’t resist the divine opportunity.
