Intramural Sports
Intramural sports are very much a part of the physical
education curriculum at McQuaid. Almost 80% of the student
body participates. All students are allowed to participate
except those who are members of an interscholastic athletic
team.
Intramural competition is divided into two divisions:
an underclass division comprised of 7th to 10th graders,
and an upperclass division comprised of juniors and
seniors. Most play follows a double elimination tournament
format. Trophies are awarded to the members of both
the championship and runner-up teams in both divisions.
Meetings: Usually seasonal, intramural competitions
are conducted outside the regularly scheduled class
instruction periods beginning at 2:45 each day.
Moderators: Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Gorton, Mr.
Jordan, Mr. Ruppert and Mr. Zaccardo
