      GRADING

1. Test Grades and essays are weighted double.

2. Class participation is a significant criterion in this class.  Your level of participation will be considered when quarter grades are computed.  Ask questions and make constructive comments in class.  Cooperative, active participation in group and class discussion is key to success in English 7.

3. Keep track of your grades and homework assignments in your McQuaid agenda.

  IF YOU'RE ABSENT. . .

1. Make arrangements to make up tests/quizzes immediately upon your return. Remember: it is not my duty to remind you.  At the end of the marking period the grade will be recorded as a ZERO.

2. Hand in any homework or essays due upon your return.  If an extension is needed, you must discuss it with me; otherwise, the grade becomes a ZERO. Do not assume you deserve an extension automatically.

3. If you are absent for more than one day, have your parents call the Middle School office at 256-6175 (Mrs. Balliet) and ask that each of your teachers list any work that you missed.
