  • McQuaid Jesuit is a private school in the Jesuit tradition, entirely college preparatory, located in the Brighton, a suburb of Rochester. Enrollment is 863 boys in grades 7 through 12 (2006-2007). There are 153 members of the Senior class. Tuition and fees are $8,850 annually. About 10% of the student body are of minority groups. 20% of the student body receives financial aid. The faculty, the majority of the whom hold Masters' Degrees, consists of Jesuits, Lay Teachers, and Carmelite priests. While the student body is predominantly Catholic, students of all faiths are accepted.
  • McQuaid Jesuit is college preparatory in a single track program. Minimum core curriculum includes: English, 4 yrs.;Mathematics, 3 yrs.; Foreign Language, 3 yrs.; Social Studies, 4 yrs.; Fine Arts, 1 yr.; Theology, 4 yrs.; Physical Education, 4 yrs.; with a wide range of electives to fit individual needs and interests. Advanced Placement courses are offered in English, Calculus, Statistics, American and European History, Microeconomics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Psychology and Computer Science.
  • McQuaid Jesuit is a member of the Middle States Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges, and the New York State Association of Independent Schools, chartered and certified by the New York State Board of Regents, and a member of the Jesuit Secondary Education Association. Also, McQuaid Jesuit was selected as exemplary private school by the U.S. Department of Education (1987).
  • Latest available figures indicate that 100% of the graduates in 2006 went on to further study. Of those going to college, 98% went to four year institutions and 2% to other higher education.
  • McQuaid Jesuit's varsity basketball team captured the 2003 NYSPHSAA State Championship in Glens Falls, NY, on March 16, for the third time. The other two wins were in 1988 and 1997. U.S.A. Today also ranked the team seventh in the nation.
  • More than $790,000 will be awarded in financial aid to high school students in 2006-2007. Approximately 20 percent of our students receives some kind of tuition assistance.
  • 100% of the class of 2006 is attending institutions of higher education.   Our graduating seniors consistently get placed into four-year colleges.
  • McQuaid Jesuit has a diverse population of students of all races and faiths. Thirty-four different school districts are represented in this year's student body.
  • In 2002, McQuaid Jesuit launched its Xavier Scholar's program. This unique program provides five six-year scholarships to students from six inner-city Catholic elementary schools: full tuition funding as well as for additional needs, from books to outfits to the financial assistance required to participate fully in school activities. The students enter the program at the seventh grade level, and this provides them with two years of additional preparation for McQuaid Jesuit's high school program. The students selected and their respective schools are part of the Wegman's Inner City School Program (WIN) established by Robert and Peggy Wegman, which provides students with financial aid who otherwise could not attend Catholic elementary schools. 
  • McQuaid Jesuit's athletic program is excellent. Since being admitted into Section V in 1973, McQuaid has won 52 Sectional Championships, 12 Regional Championships, and 8 State Championships.
  • McQuaid Jesuit's curriculum exceeds the requirements of the New York State Board of Regents and includes a full complement of Advanced Placement courses for college credit.
  • Approximately 100 colleges and universities will have made recruitment visits to McQuaid by January 1st. In addition, 20 colleges associated with the Jesuit college tour will make visits in the spring.
  • There are more than 30 different clubs and activities (excluding sports) available to interested students.
