The McQuaid Jesuit Bookstore

Welcome to the McQuaid Jesuit bookstore, located at the east end of the cafeteria.  In addition to books and related supplies, the bookstore also stocks a wide variety of clothing and gift items to show off everyone's school spirit.

Bookstore IOU's: students with outstanding debt in the bookstore are asked to make payment at their earliest convenience.

State Textbooks.

New York State, by way of home school districts, provides certain textbooks-on-loan for their students.  State textbooks are distributed to students during orientation or on the first days of classes.

Students are responsible for insuring that state textbooks remain in good condition.  If a book is damaged or lost, the student will be responsible for replacing the book as if it were new.  In addition, students may never write in or mark up state textbooks, and all books must be covered.  Adhesive book covers are never allowed; use of an adhesive cover will result in damage charges. Stretch covers should be the correct size (many of our texts require the jumbo size), lest the book’s binding rips.

It is the student’s responsibility to inform the bookstore staff if they discover writing on state textbooks that has not been blocked out.  If a student feels that a book is wearing excessively or has been damaged, he should bring it to the bookstore promptly to avoid future fines for damages he did not cause.

Textbook Purchase

For the convenience of the McQuaid community, we have discontinued the services of our online distributor. All required novels, workbooks, supplements, art kits, and AP textbooks may be purchased directly from the McQuaid bookstore beginning in mid-August, after schedules arrive home. 

Students enrolled in some AP classes list received a mailing including Summer Assignments; books required for those classes are available now. We suggest that waiting for all other books until your schedule arrived in Mid to Late August. Please bring your printed schedule with you to the bookstore when you come to purchase your school books. Bookstore hours will be posted on the website.

School Supplies

• High School:  Each teacher will specify his or her own list of supplies on the first day of class.  Therefore, there is no published list of high school supplies at this time. Supplemental textbooks, workbooks and novels will be available in August.

• Middle School:  The middle school supply list is available online for your review.Art Supplies:  Available by request in the bookstore

Varsity Sweaters

Varsity letter sweaters will again be available through the bookstore for students who have earned varsity letters. The “McQuaid Varsity Sweater Purchase Request” is available in the office of the Assistant Principal for Student Affairs.  Sample sweaters are in stock at the bookstore to help students determine the size required to complete the order process.  The price of the McQuaid Varsity Sweater is $65.00. This includes the cost of attaching the varsity letter to the sweater.  Students should bring the request form and the varsity letter when ordering sweaters.
